Babs Desrosiers grew up in Los Gatos, CA and graduated from San Jose State University. Her love of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Twain Harte area began as a young child during yearly summer vacation trips. After moving to the area in the mid 1980’s, Babs learned the art of creating stained glass works, journal making, and leather arts - her designs, use of color, and attention to detail inspired by the beauty of nature surrounding her. In 1997, Babs moved to southwest Colorado where she designed and built a strawbale home with her former husband Sean while living in their dome greenhouse during construction. The southwest was a wonderful area to study the rich colors and beauty found in Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah where she continued to create stained glass and mosaic work. Babs returned to Twain Harte in 2002 and began working at the Pinecrest Fine Arts Gallery. During this time, she learned the art of custom framing from her friend Andie Dolan. In 2005, the two friends set out to create All That MATTERS. Babs and her husband Al live in Twain Harte, where she and Andie share ownership of All That MATTERS. With her love of color, design, and custom framing skills, she continues to create, embellish and enhance beautiful artworks for her clients, friends, and visitors to
All That MATTERS.
“Andie” Arnold Dolan-Lawrence, was born in Petaluma, CA. Andie has always been fascinated with colors spending hours coloring, doing needlework and paint-by-numbers with her mother. In the 1960’s, Andie started oil painting as a hobby, painting landscapes and seascapes. Andie has studied art, drawing with charcoal and oil painting. In, 1985, Andie met Lloyd “Odie” Dolan. He loved photography and had all the equipment for framing his own photographs. Andie and Odie began taking short trips together photographing local wildflowers, mountain scenes and fall colors. In 1986, they were married and spent their vacations traveling and enjoying the art of photography. They traveled all the National Parks throughout the Western States. It didn’t take long for Andie to love photography and picture framing. Selecting mat colors and textures with the frame styles to compliment the subject was exciting and satisfying. The final result turned the photos and gallery art into something very special for hanging. Andie and Odie spent 15 years together taking one trip after another until Odie passed away, in April 2000. Andie continued to travel and do photography, remembering Odies techniques and his voice. In the summer of 2005, Babs and Andie got the idea to open a custom frame shop and art gallery in Twain Harte. Andie had the framing equipment and experience, Babs had experience working in the Pinecrest Fine Art Gallery, THEY MADE A PLAN. With lots of help from family and friends, November 2005, All That MATTERS Framing Gifts Gallery OPENED. Since then, Andie has studied conservation framing and needlework framing with Vivian Kistler CPF. She has completed the coursework in Professional Framing Seminar given by Vivian Kistler. Andie and her husband, David live in Twain Harte and feel fortunate to live and work in such a wonderful community. Andie and Babs take pride in the quality, workmanship and service they provide to their customers.
